Gerina Stevenson, the Mexican mother of Rita Stevenson Stevenson and Alan Stevenson Stevenson, was born in Mexico. The mother of two is a Mexican American and is American in nationality. She has always been an avid sportsperson. Gerina started to play golf when she was 15 years old. Gerina was a student at Goddard High School for her higher education in high school. When she was in high school, she took home the New Mexico state golf tournament. In addition, she was the volleyball player that competed at the national level. The year 2003 was the time she enrolled at the University of Texas. Through her senior year she won each tournament she competed in. Through her college years, she was awarded as the conference's best player of season and UTEP's Female Athletic of Year.
