Heidi Klum was born in Bergisch Gladbach Germany on June 1 1973. The mother of Heidi Klum Erna had a career as a hairdresser. Her father Gunther Klum was a cosmetics company executive. Her father had previously been director of production at the perfume maker 4711. Heidi was raised in the home town in Bergisch Gladbach a city of about 100,000 residents only six miles to the east of Cologne. The German-American former fashion model is now a television host and producer fashion designer businesswoman, and actress who lives and works in the southern part of California as well as Germany. The German women's magazine Petra sponsored this talent show as part of Thomas Gottschalk's talk program. Klum competed against more than 25,000 contestants across Germany as well as Europe until she was one of the three semi-finalists. In April 1992 she won the top $300,000 modeling prize.
